When Kiran moved between her legs, Thal spread her thighs and rested her feet against his shoulders.

“I told you I was over one hundred years old. Did you expect me not to have had at least a little experience?” she asked when he met her gaze.

“Not at all.” He grinned. “I just wondered how you knew I wanted you like this.” Moving closer, he pressed forward, his cock nudging the entrance to her empty vagina. With a moan, she shifted her hips, rubbing the head of his cock over her wet folds. She stilled when he grasped her hips and held her in place. He slid inside her with a groan and threw her feet completely over his shoulders.

If she’d expected gentleness, she might have been disappointed, but she wasn’t. Kiran thrust deep. Over and over, he rammed himself inside her while Gaige leaned over her and alternately sucked her nipples, sending shards of energy through her body with the pressure of his sharp teeth.

Faster and faster Kiran moved, and she wanted more. Needed more. “Please!” she screamed as he ratcheted up his thrusts, his cock ramming deeper and deeper as she felt another climax building.

Finally, when she feared she could take no more, she screamed through another release and Kiran finally came inside her with a groan. His body jerked as he spent himself deep inside her. Breathless, Thal collapsed on the bed, her heart pounding, her breath coming in short gasps.

Kiran leaned forward, kissing her slowly. “That is what you’ve been missing all these years.”

Gaige moved into place between her legs. “I’m not going tae take you in the same way Kiran did, love.” He lowered himself over her, pressing a quick kiss to her lips. Reaching behind her he fingered the bud of her anus. “Hae ye ever had anyone take ye here?”

“Yes.” Her cheeks burned. “I know it doesn’t beget children, but the last man liked it that way.” She shrugged. “He obliged my desire to try for a babe.”

“Ye bargained your body for a babe?” Gaige sighed and held her close. “You’ll never hae tae do that again, love.” He pressed his forehead against hers. “Do ye want tae do this? I dinnae want ye tae agree tae anything that makes ye uncomfortable.” He paused. “Though, ye must know that we’ll have tae take ye together if we’re tae truly mate.”

Hands on his shoulders, she pushed him back. “I thought it was up to me.” She raised a brow.

“It is.” Gaige smiled. “We’ll stay with ye as long as you’ll have us. We’ll stay faithful to ye and we’ll love ye. Nothing can change that.”

“What more can I ask?” She smiled and reached up to cup his cheek. “I can only guess that living with me without the mating will cause you discomfort.”

“Dinnae let that sway your decision, love.” He gave her a quick kiss. “This is about your comfort, not ours.”

How could she allow them to sacrifice so much for her? She’d lived her life alone and thought she was happy. It wasn’t until now that she realized that she’d just been going through the motions.

“I want this.” Leaning up, she kissed him. “Now let’s get to it, shall we?”

Thal wasn’t sure what she expected, but she hadn’t anticipated Gaige pulling her into his arms to kiss her until she swooned. He reached down, sliding his fingers through her wet flesh, and circled her anus with his fingers.

Kiran moved to her head. Leaning down, he pulled one taut nipple into his mouth while he pulled and twisted the other. Frissons of current that felt like little electric shocks shot through her body. From the tips of her breasts, straight to her groin, a shot of lust rushed through her.

She squirmed, her body readying itself for another climax, though she knew that she wouldn’t, couldn’t possibly enjoy what Gaige planned to do. Still she knew she must do this. She wanted a life with them. After one-hundred and twenty years, she deserved a life beyond awakening the forest. They all did.

Gaige reached between them with his free hand, his thumb rubbing her clit while he slowly inserted the fingers of his other hand into her ass. She bit her lip. The pressure felt strange, unlike anything she’d ever felt before.

He rubbed her clit with his thumb. She moaned. Kiran gently bit her nipple before releasing the hard bud with a loud pop to turn his attention on its twin.

“I hae three fingers inside ye now, love. You’re as ready as you’ll ever be. Do ye still want tae to this, or hae ye changed your mind?

“I want it,” she said between clenched teeth. “Give it to me. Give it to me now.”

Slowly, Gaige pulled his fingers from her ass and she moaned. She had no idea what it would feel like to have him inside her. She only knew that if it was possible for these men to give her pleasure in this way—they would.

When he placed the thick head of his cock against her rear opening, she lifted her legs higher, opening to him. Slowly, he surged forward, his thick erection pressing into her back hole, stretching her.

It burned for a split second when the bulbous head finally passed her outer ring. After that, the remainder of his thick length slid into her with relative ease. It wasn’t until his hips pressed tight against her buttocks that she felt the first tremor of pleasure.

It didn’t take long for wave after wave of burning need to wash over her. A jolt of pure unadulterated need hit her hard. Thrust after deep thrust drove her closer and closer to another orgasm.

“Please!” She screamed, her body going up in flames as Gaige rammed his hard cock into her ass. “Fuck me. Please Gaige, fuck me hard!”

Faster and faster he plunged into her, his hips powering back and forth, driving her to the peak of another mind-blowing orgasm.

“Gaige!” She screamed his name as she came. Her body clenched, her ass clutching his massive erection as she came apart in their arms.

With a loud, animalistic growl, Gaige came, his hips jerking frantically. He spent himself inside her before he slowly pulled out and flopped onto the bed beside her.

Kiran wiped the sweat from her brow and kissed her forehead. “This is the kind of pleasure ye can expect often, love.”

“Oh, my,” Thal said with a smile. “If that’s the case, I think I’ll have to keep you both.”

  Chapter Seventeen

Morning dawned and light filtered down through the holes drilled into the roof of the cave for ventilation.

Gaige stretched. He rolled over slowly, not wanting to disturb Thal. They’d worn her out the night before and she needed her rest.

“As much as I hate tae wake her, we need tae get moving. The ogres are close and we need her tae awaken the forest. The greenery will weaken our enemies.” Kiran stood at the edge of the pool already dressed.

  “She needs her sleep.”

Kiran chuckled. “I’m not sure she’ll agree with ye. I’ve been outside. It’s nearing noon.”

“Noon!” Thal sat up, holding the blanket over her breasts. She met his gaze and blushed. “I’ve never slept so late in my life.” Throwing the blanket aside, she stood and jumped into the pool and made a short circuit of the outer edge.

Climbing from the pool, she picked her clothes up off the floor and put them on. Afterward, she again jumped into the pool, the water cleaning her garments and rejuvenating the natural fibers.

“Why did you let me sleep so late?”

“We wore ye out, love. Ye needed your rest.”

“I need to awaken the forest.” She sighed. “I have one job, and it’s in the spring. I have the rest of the year to rest.”

She led the way from the cave with Kiran, leaving Gaige to hop behind them as he struggled to pull on his boots.

  “I smell a nymph.”

Gaige stepped up behind Thal and Kiran as they stood just inside the mouth of the cave. Three ogres stood just outside the entrance looking about, as though searching for Thal. They should have been able to see her standing not three feet from them, but none of the three gave more than a cursory glance in her direction.

Slowly, Gaige reached out and gently pulled h
er behind him.

“I smell one, too.” The beast scratched his head. “But I don’t see one.”

“How does one live their lives so confused?” Gaige said in a low voice.

“It is a perpetual state for their kind.” Thal stared at the three ogres before them wearing a frown. “Nature designed them that way.”

“I wish they had at least one brain between them. I dinnae like the idea of killing a creature who can’t be taught what he’s doing is wrong.”

“Oh, don’t kill them! You can’t.” The look Thal gave him was so filled with compassion for the beasts that both Gaige and Kiran sighed.

“We won’t unless they give us no other choice.”

“They can learn. I taught them that they must feed us or we would die. Surely that means that you can teach them to leave us alone?”

“We can hope.” Kiran shook his head. “We’ll need tae move out into the open where they can see us.”

“I’m not using our mate as bait.” Gaige crossed his arms and glared at his cousin.

  “Perhaps we won’t have tae.”

When the ogres turned their attention away from the mouth of the cave, Kiran stepped out and slapped an ogre on the back of the head. The beast turned and growled.

“Why did ya do that?” He rubbed his head. “That hurt.”

“Why do you wish to find a nymph?”

  “Cause they smell good.”

“Christ, Gaige. It’s like talking to children.” He shook his head. “Has no one ever told you that kidnapping nymphs is wrong?”

“The nymphs did, but we didn’t believe them. They smell too good to be anything but food.”

  “But they taste nasty.”

Another ogre added, wrinkling his nose.

Kiran shook his head and grasped the bridge of his nose as though his head hurt. “Ye can’t hunt the nymphs anymore, ogre.”

“Why not? We can do whatever we want. We’re bigger than you are.”

“Dae ye think so?” Gaige stepped forward. Grasping an ogre by the front of his dirty shirt, he snarled. “Leave them be, or we’ll make ye our food, and I guarantee, ye won’t taste as nasty tae us as the nymphs do tae ye.”

The ogre slapped him away as though he was nothing. “I’m hungry now, human, and humans taste good.”

“Perhaps,” Gaige said as the ogre stalked him. “But I’ll bet my bear will bite back.”

“I don’t see no bears.” The ogre turned to look behind him. By the time he spun back around, Gaige had shifted into his beast. The polar bear was larger than the ogre. At over ten feet tall when he stood on his hind legs, he towered over the ogre. It screamed and fell back, landing hard on its too-large ass.

“It’s a ghost bear!” The others spun around, their mouths open and eyes wide. “Run before it eats ya!”

“No!” Kiran stepped forward. “Hear me, or I swear tae the gods we’ll hunt ye down and kill every one of ye.”

The ogres stopped in their tracks. They stood trembling before him, casting their gazes about frantically.

Gaige followed their gaze and smiled deep within the bears form. The rest of their group encircled the grove, the nymphs sitting placidly on the backs of the large polar bears who pawed the ground as though sighting their next meal.

“It’s a pack of ghost bears. They do exist.”

“Yes,” Kiran added. “We do exist. We coexist with you, with nymphs, humans and other beasts. Just as you will from this day forward.” He stepped forward to stare into the eyes of the beast that had done most of the talking.

“You will no longer kidnap nymphs, you will stop trying to eat them and you will carry this news to others of your kind. Tell them that the ghost bears protect the nymphs, and if they harm the nymphs, they will die.”

Gaige growled and pawed the ground in an effort to drive Kiran’s words home.

“The nymphs have asked us not to harm you, but know this, you will die if you capture another.”

  “But they smell so good.”

“Then sit in the woods while they work and smell them all you like. Just don’t touch them.”

The ogres glanced at each other. “We could do that,” one said and they all nodded. “I like the way they smell when they’re alive. They stink something fierce when they die.”

“Everything stinks when it dies, stupid.”

  “I’m not stupid, you’re stupid.”

Gaige sighed. They were just like children.

The bears encircling the glade parted and allowed the ogres to leave. The nymphs all gave a collective sigh, slid from the bears’ backs and got to work on rejuvenating the glade.

“You should be safe to work alone next year, though I think working together is better. The plants grow thicker and faster. Not to mention I think you’ve covered more ground than you would have alone,” Kiran said to Thal as her mother ran forward to hug her.

“I agree, Kiran.” Kalysis took him by the shoulders and leaned forward. He bent, unsure of what she intended. He smiled when she touched her forehead to his. “Welcome to the family.” She looked up at him with tears in her eyes. “I’ve never known a son before. Perhaps it is time we all knew that honor.”

“Perhaps it is,” Thal agreed, moving up beside him to wrap her arm around his waist. “And maybe it’s time that those of us who decide to take a mate decide to stay in touch with our kin.” She hugged her mother. “I will be back every spring, and one day, I will bring my sons and daughters with me.”

  About the Author

  Dear Reader:

If you’re reading this, I hope it means that you’ve just enjoyed reading one of my books. Always a romantic, I started weaving little fantasies for my friends at the tender age of fifteen. Never once did I think that writing would be my dream until around 2002. After complaining to my husband that my favorite authors didn’t write fast enough, my husband asked a fateful question. “Why don’t you write one of your own while you’re waiting?”

Once I started, he couldn’t stop me. Now, I write in the morning before work. I write during my breaks at the day job, I write at night when I should be relaxing. Heck, I’ve even been known to write in my sleep. Every member of my family has had the dubious honor of witnessing my fingers moving over the keys while I’m off in dreamland. Sometimes it even makes sense!

I grew up in Southwest Florida where I met and married the love of my life. My husband was in the Navy for twenty years, so if you wonder where I have gotten some of my ideas, I blame him. I suggest you do the same. He’s always saying he has wide shoulders. Let’s load them up, shall we?

Currently, I live in a small town in Michigan, seven miles from the nearest grocery store. I love living out here in the country. It gives me the peace and quiet I need to continue to write these stories for you. It also shows me a lot of natural beauty that I try to share with you in my books. While my titles may be dedicated to certain individuals who have touched my life in differing ways, please remember, every one of them is written for you.

My most recent dream is to continue what I do—to share more stories with anyone willing to read them. My new dream is to be able to pursue both my writing and my husband fulltime. Do you think he’ll run?
